About J. Strom Thurmond Lake

J. Strom Thurmond Lake is a 71,100-acre reservoir in Georgia, completed in 1954, managed by USACE Savannah District. Live pool elevation comes from the USACE SAS District water-control feed. Public launches include Mistletoe State Park Boat Ramp, Hickory Knob State Resort Park Boat Ramp, and Elijah Clark State Park Boat Ramp. Active sailing clubs include Augusta Sailing Club and Plum Branch Yacht Club.
