About J. Strom Thurmond Lake

J. Strom Thurmond Lake is a 71,100-acre reservoir in Georgia, completed in 1954, managed by USACE Savannah District. Live pool elevation comes from the USACE SAS District water-control feed. The main public launch is Mistletoe State Park Boat Ramp at 3725 Mistletoe Rd, Appling GA 30802. Active sailing clubs include Augusta Sailing Club and Plum Branch Yacht Club.
