Lake James is a 6,812-acre reservoir in North Carolina, completed in 1923, managed by Duke Energy / NC State Parks. Live water-level readings are scraped from Duke Energy on a regular schedule. Public launches include Canal Bridge Boat Ramp (Lake James State Park) and Hidden Cove Boat Ramp (Lake James State Park). The Carolina Sailing Club is the active sailing club on the water.
