About Lake Hartwell

Lake Hartwell is a 56,000-acre reservoir in South Carolina, completed in 1962, managed by USACE Savannah District. Live water-surface elevation comes from USGS gauge 02187010. The main public launch is Lake Hartwell State Park Boat Ramp at 19138-A SC-11 South, Fair Play SC 29643. Active sailing clubs include Western Carolina Sailing Club, Lake Hartwell Sail & Power Squadron, and Big Water Sailing School.
